House Democrats have returned to Washington, and they are looking to pass any legislation they can to help them with the upcoming midterms.

With most of their legislative priorities stuck in the Senate, House members said they hope something can be done before the midterms to help the economy.

Inflation has hit 40-year highs, and Democrat-led states are trailing in job creation compared with their Republican counterparts.

“Like all of you, I was somewhat shocked at the prices of ordinary groceries,” Susan Wild (D-PA) agreed. “There is a lot of work that needs to be done to build an economy that works for everybody.”

“The pinch we are all feeling on inflation is significant,” Rep. Abigail Spanberger (D-VA) acknowledged. I guess they believed Biden that Build Back Better was going to fix everything, and since it didn’t pass, now they finally realize they should try to do something.
