After House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) appointed eight liberal Trump-haters to be on the January 6 select committee, including Republican Liz Cheney (WY), House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) now has his turn to appoint five conservatives to the committee and balance it out as much as possible.
McCarthy announced that Reps. Jim Jordan (R-OH), Jim Banks (R-IN), Troy Nehls (R-TX), Kelly Armstrong (R-ND), and Rodney Davis (R-IL) would join the committee, making up the minority in a body that is likely to come to unfair conclusions about the Capitol breach that occurred that day.
Banks has already spoken out about the committee, stating that if it really wanted to investigate violent protests, it would look into the BLM protests of last summer.
“Make no mistake, Nancy Pelosi created this committee solely to malign conservatives and to justify the Left’s authoritarian agenda,” Banks said.
The first sham public hearing of the committee will be held on July 27.
