Former Hawaii Democrat Rep. Tulsi Gabbard said on The Ingraham Angle Friday that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) was making a mistake by calling Republican colleagues “the enemy within” when talking to reporters.
“This kind of broad, inflammatory rhetoric is like throwing a match into the tinderbox,” Gabbard said.
Pelosi was talking about needing additional security at the Capitol and suggested that it was because some Republicans wanted to carry guns in the building and had threatened violence against Democrat colleagues.
There has not been any evidence of threats against Democrats by Republican House members.
If this is a [criminal threat], let law enforcement deal with it,” Gabbard said. “If there is no evidence of what she is talking about, it is inciting further division and further harm potentially and further destroying the possibility of our country coming together.”
