Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) was just completely nailed in public. National Guard soldiers have been ordered to move.
“It is time to send the troops home,” send Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) on Fox News. He said there are “too many troops left in Washington” and Pelosi “needs to come forth and explain” why she thinks they should still be around.
“I’m not aware of any threat to justify continued presence today around the Capitol, much less into the fall,” he said. “I think Nancy Pelosi will have a lot of questions to answer about what she knew leading up to the riot on January 6.”
Ultimately, it is clear that Cotton wants answers from Pelosi on two fronts — the security situation that led to the Capitol breach and why National Guard troops are still stationed in and around the Capitol.
So far, she hasn’t offered much information. All she has done is blame-shift and spearhead a “snap impeachment” against President Donald Trump. Thankfully, enough senators voted to acquit the now-former president.
But Cotton has a way of getting to the truth. As a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee and a vet himself, one of his priorities is making sure our troops are treated with dignity and not as political pawns.
