The bad news keeps coming for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) as more Democrats defect from the House to retire or pursue other opportunities.
Back in March, Rep. Filemon Vela (D-TX) and Rep. Ann Kirkpatrick (D-AZ) announced their retirements. Rep. Cheri Bustos (D-IL) followed in April, and Illinois is set to lose a seat after the latest census results.
Rep. Tim Ryan (D-OH) also announced in April that he would bw running for the Senate to replace the retiring Rob Portman. In May, Rep. Charlie Crist (D-FL) decided to run for governor against incumbent Ron DeSantis.
Rep. Val Demings (D-FL) decided in June to run for Senate in a challenge to Marco Rubio. And in August, Rep. Ron Kind (D-WI) said he would retire amid accusations he owns and advertises a seedy massage parlor.
Is it any wonder Pelosi is thinking seriously about retiring herself, even as she claims that Democrats will hold their majority in the House?
