Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) just ended it. She is completely done and there is no turning back now. The California liberal has made a decision, and she is sticking with it. This is stunning.
“Portraits honoring four former House speakers who served in the Confederacy were removed Thursday after Speaker Nancy Pelosi declared that the men ’embody the violent bigotry and grotesque racism of the Confederacy,'” reported the AP.
Apparently, this is going to be Pelosi’s schtick from now until the November election — erasing history to score political points with the Marxist base of the Democratic Party. But it isn’t going to play well with most Americans.
No one is going to deny the evil of slavery or make excuses for the institution. It should have ended in the U.S. long before the Civil War and passage of the 13th Amendment. However, the Democrats are on a destructive path.
Following Pelosi’s logic, we would have to tear down every portrait, statue, monument, or reference to an American if that person had any kind of connection to a negative part of our nation’s past. But history is meant to instruct and show a full picture.
This does not seem to register in the minds of Pelosi and her far-left colleagues. She has even “urged the removal of Confederate statues from the Capitol and the renaming of U.S. military bases that honor Confederate Army officers.”
