Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) just dropped a bomb on her own party. Millions of Americans are in shock, and Democrats can’t believe it.
In a sudden about-face, Pelosi has turned on embattled New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D). She told MSNBC that “if these allegations are proven to be true, then zero tolerance would follow that the governor should not continue.”
She said the phrase “zero tolerance” multiple times while discussing the possibility of Cuomo resigning, which she now supports “if the allegations are proven to be true.” Her announcement follows a similar one from President Biden.
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) have already called for Cuomo to resign, as have several legislators in the New York State Assembly. He brought this upon himself.
The sexual harassment allegations — including at least one with photographic evidence — started dropping following major coverage of the nursing home scandal, in which Cuomo covered up nursing home deaths to avoid an investigation.
The governor’s controversial policy to send COVID-infected patients into nursing homes is now getting the attention it deserves after being waved away by the press for weeks before the 2020 election. Cuomo should resign immediately.
