House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) confirmed rumors that the Democrat-held House is open to overturning the election in Iowa’s second congressional district that Republican Marianette Miller-Meeks won.
Pelosi addressed the media on Thursday. When asked if she was open to the House overturning the election that state officials certified, she responded by saying, “there could be a scenario to that extent. Yes.”
After Iowa election officials certified the election in Representative Meeks’ favor, Hart petitioned the House to review the election.
Representative Meeks pointed out that Hart had failed to use all available state-level options for recourse. Hart deliberately took her case to the House, where she knew she had the best chance to overturn the election and steal the seat.
Pelosi said, “I respect the work of the committee. I did see, as you saw in the press, what they decided to — and they were following my, as I read it, the requirements of the law as to how you go forward. And how you go forward is the path you’re on, and we’ll see where that takes us. But there could be a scenario to that extent. Yes.”
This isn’t the first time that the Democrat party has stolen a House seat, spiting the voter’s will. After calling Donald Trump and Republicans treasonous for questioning the presidential election, the actions of Pelosi and Democrats are even more egregious.
