While Afghanistan is in chaos and thousands of Americans remain trapped there, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) is calling Congress back into session to discuss spending another $5 trillion.
“Nothing to see here, just Nancy Pelosi calling the US House back in to discuss $5 TRILLION in partisan spending—but no hearings scheduled on the ongoing situation in Afghanistan,” Rep. August Pfluger (R-TX) tweeted Monday.
“Washington’s priorities are backwards,” he added.
Rep. Jim Banks (R-ID) called Pelosi’s machinations “shameful.”
Some moderate Democrats appear to be standing in the way of the two huge infrastructure bills’ passage, which is currently in doubt.
