Nancy Pelosi may have maintained a Democrat majority in the House of Representatives, but taking joy in that is trusting a thin mirage.

And the most recent item that should terrify Pelosi is that her own House of Representatives did not give her a majority of votes when the vote came up to decide whether Pelosi would be the next Speaker.

Pelosi won re-election with only 216 votes, less than a majority of 218 in the U.S. House of Representatives.
