Georgia Bureau of Investigation Special Agent in charge Lindsay Wilkes said that Alamo, Georgia police officer Dylan Harrison was shot during his first shift with the department in retaliation for having used his taser on someone earlier in the shift.
Damien Anthony Ferguson allegedly shot and killed Officer Harrison after Harrison tasered one of Ferguson’s friends at a Circle K after the friend refused to comply with Harrison’s commands.
Wilkes said, “It is believed that the ambush-style attack on Officer Harrison was retaliation for the incident and the arrest of the man Friday night.”
Ferguson got away from the scene after shooting Harrison but was later captured by police and is now in custody.
Harrison was married and had a 6 month-old child.
