Special Counsel Robert Mueller responded to the rumors that Roger Stone’s indictment was leaked to CNN before Stone’s arrest.
According to Fox News, “Stone’s legal team had filed a motion in federal court claiming his indictment had been leaked after CNN was the only network to stake out Stone’s Fort Lauderdale home when he was arrested.”
Mueller’s office released a statement claiming that “the Special Counsel’s Office is aware of no information indicating that reporters were given any advance knowledge of a possible indictment from the Special Counsel’s office.”
CNN also responded to the accusation, stating that their “ability to capture the arrest of Roger Stone” was a result of “good reporting.” Apparently, one of the elements of “good reporting” is incredible luck.
