Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) went on Thursday’s broadcast of the Fox News Channel’s “Daily Briefing” and made it clear that Joe Biden is in favor of packing the Supreme Court.
McConnell first discussed the late Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s views on court-packing saying, “Justice Ginsberg had it right. She was asked about this last year. She said nine is the right number. She pointed out that Franklin Roosevelt tried to pack the court. It was a political disaster for him.”
The Senate majority leader then went on to say, “It was when Joe was chairman of the Judiciary Committee. Now he’s hedging. When he’s hedging, the answer is yes, he’s open to it. And the American people overwhelmingly think this is a bad idea on a bipartisan basis.”
The Biden campaign has been doing its best to distract from any notions of packing the court after President Trump chose to nominate Judge Amy Coney Barrett to fill Ginsburg’s seat.
The reality is Americans need to remember that a vote for Biden is a vote for packing the Supreme Court and permanently undermining the integrity and independence of the judicial branch.
