Former Vice President Mike Pence told the New York Times in an interview published Monday that he is considering a run for president in 2024, even if former President Donald Trump runs.
“We’ll go where we’re called. … That’s the way Karen and I have always approached these things,” he said, indicating that he would pray about whether to run.
Pence said that many people had reached out to him with appreciation that he resisted Trump’s efforts to get him to refuse to certify the election results.
Trump alleged that he really won the election due to large-scale voter fraud, but was unable to prove it by the time of certification.
Trump and Pence will soon face off over the Georgia gubernatorial race, in which they are supporting rival primary candidates.
