Megyn Kelly said it was a strange experience to go to the movies with her son and see a movie poster featuring herself in the movie Bombshell, a fictionalized account of three Fox News hosts who made sexual harassment allegations against then-CEO Roger Ailes.
Kelly has alleged that Ailes harassed her repeatedly while she worked at Fox News. In all, more than 20 women made complaints against Ailes, leading him to step down from Fox News in July 2016. Kelly and fellow host Gretchen Carlson are featured in the movie, along with a fictional producer, Kayla.
Kelly said that she did not sell her rights for the movie and was not consulted on it. She did not see it, she said, until it was too late to make any edits, and says she would have made some.
She declined to say what edits she would have made, but said the movie an “incredibly emotional experience.”
Kelly left Fox News in January 2017 and spent a year-and-a-half at NBC before being fired there.
