Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) was just hit with a “murder” bombshell. Millions of people across the nation are stunned and demanding answers right now.
Appearing on MSNBC, Waters said that former President Donald Trump “absolutely should be charged with premeditated murder because of the lives that were lost with this invasion, with this insurrection.”
She even claimed that Trump “had advance planning about the invasion,” which is entirely false — Democrats didn’t even make this claim in their impeachment charge. They said he “incited” the Capitol riot.
But even this is an absurd allegation. Mere hours before the riot, at a rally a few blocks away, Trump encouraged supporters to protest “peacefully and patriotically.” Does this actually sound like “incitement”?
Of course not. But Waters and the Democrats do not care. This idea that Trump should now be charged with premeditated murder is especially egregious and would have severe First Amendment implications.
Trump has the same right to free speech as anyone else and there’s no proof he intended for a riot to occur; he also condemned the violence that took place. This is why he will be acquitted by the Senate.
