After intensely questioning Dr. Anthony Fauci about his reasons for continuing to recommend COVID precautions like masks and social distancing even though half of American adults have now been vaccinated, Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) was told to “shut your mouth” by Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA).
It wasn’t Jordan’s questions for Fauci exactly that made Waters rudely demand that he stop talking–it was that he tried to keep going after his time was up.
Jordan pressed Fauci for “numbers” that would allow everything to go back to normal, and he accused Fauci of taking away people’s freedoms with his recommendations.
After his time expired, he said, “I’d like my question answered!” as Waters began to speak.
“You need to respect the chair and shut your mouth!” Waters yelled. Rep. Jim Clyburn (D-SC), the chair, said he would take care of the infraction.
