Officials in Arizona seized $9 million in fentanyl pills in the largest such bust ever. The bust constituted enough fentanyl to kill half the state’s population.
A nonprofit group recently labeled fentanyl overdose the number one cause of death for those ages 18 to 45.
Arizona and Texas’ attorney generals said they would fight the “lawless” Biden administration which they say is allowing the fentanyl to come across the border illegally.
Mexican cartels have turned to fentanyl as their drug of choice, even though its potency makes overdoses much more likely.
“This is not a recreational drug,” Scottsdale Police Department Chief Jeff Walther said. “This is death.”
