Face masks were just declared mandatory and Americans across the country are shocked. This is going to impact the lives of millions — especially those who are traveling for business, vacation, or to visit family members.
“United Airlines announced Monday that passengers who refuse to wear masks will be put on an internal no-fly list and will be banned from boarding future flights,” reported Breitbart News this week.
The popular airline has issued this requirement even though an “overwhelming majority of passengers” are already wearing masks, according to the company’s own admission. Even so, anyone refusing to follow the rule will face consequences.
“If the passenger does not comply, the flight attendant will file an incident report and a security team will launch an investigation at the plane’s destination,” continued Breitbart’s report. The passenger will also be restricted from traveling in the future.
As the economy has slowly reopened, major companies — especially those that have frequent contact with consumers, such as airlines — have been scrambling for ways to protect their employees and customers as best as possible.
This can be particularly difficult for airlines, given the close proximity of flight attendants and passengers during a flight. Toby Enqvist, United’s chief customer officer, noted how masks can be effective in places like an aircraft where social distancing is a challenge.”
