BREAKING: Mask Mandate LIFTED – School Children Cheering…

New York Governor Kathy Hokul (D) will lift the statewide mask mandate on schools on Wednesday, she said Monday, citing new CDC guidelines showing most of the state at a low risk of transmission.

“We will lift the statewide requirement based on all the data,” Hochul said. “However, there are some counties that have higher rates of transmission. We will allow them to determine what is best for their county.”

New York City Mayor Eric Adams said he was considering lifting the citywide mask requirement starting next week and would make a final decision on Friday.

Schools in the city could still opt to mandate masks for their students even though the mandate was lifted, however.

While Adams is considering lifting vaccine requirements on restaurants and other indoor spaces as well, he said the vaccine mandate for private employers would remain in place.
