Sen. Marco Rubio’s (R-FL) concerns about security for Supreme Court justices were ignored for nearly a month, until the same day that an abortion activist was arrested with a weapon intending to kill Justice Brett Kavanaugh.
Rubio sent a letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland on May 11, expressing concerns about security for the justices just after a draft opinion on abortion was leaked.
“So why have you remained silent while evidence mounts of a coordinated campaign to intimidate them as they consider Dobbs v. Jackson?” Rubio asked Garland.
Even after the threat against Kavanaugh was made public, Biden predicted a “mini-revolution” if Roe V. Wade is overturned, as the leaked draft suggested.
The DOJ has not commented on the matter even as protesters threatened the justices in ways that are against the law.
