Representative Liz Cheney (R-WY) has gotten what she deserves as the entirety of the GOP has abandoned her, and it is only a matter of time until she is formally removed from her positions in leadership.
The latest Republican to endorse Cheney’s removal is Representative Ashley Hinson (R-IA), who has jumped on the hype train for Representative Elise Stefanik (R-NY) to replace Cheney.
Hinson believes that Stefanik is the right person to be the House GOP Conference chair in place of Cheney. Hinson is confident Stefanik has what it takes to “steer” the GOP through the upcoming year as Republicans ready to take back the House in 2022.
Hinson said, “If Republicans are divided and not focusing all of our efforts against the radical policies, I see it as the surest way Pelosi will remain in power. So, that’s why I decided to support Elise because I respect Congressman Cheney’s record and service to our country, but I believe Elise right now is the right person to unify us and help lead our conference so we can take that majority in 2022.”
Cheney has shown her true colors as an establishment Republican who would rather bow down to the Democrats than actually fight their agenda.
While Stefanik is far from perfect, removing Cheney from leadership sends an important message that weak Republicans-In-Name-Only will no longer be tolerated.
