Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) just confirmed a Supreme Court bombshell. He revealed it all and Democrats are on total shock — they didn’t expect him to go this far.
“Being lectured by Democrats about how to handle judicial nominations is like an arsonist advising the Fire Department,” tweeted Graham, referring to the looming fight over Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s replacement.
“Democrats chose to set in motion rules changes to stack the court at the Circuit level and they chose to try to destroy Brett Kavanaugh’s life to keep the Supreme Court seat open,” he continued. “You reap what you sow.”
With just a few short sentences, Graham has exposed the Democrats’ political game. They want Senate Republicans to wait until after the election or even January to move on a Ginsburg replacement — as if they’re in a position to make demands.
After all, it was Senate Democrats who decided that judicial nominees should be confirmed by a simple majority — a rule change they implemented back when they were the majority under President Barack Obama.
Now, because another Supreme Court justice is on the line, Democrats want to stall proceedings and use the situation regarding Obama’s failed nominee, Merrick Garland, as leverage. But the two situations aren’t remotely similar.
