President Donald Trump said Thursday that if Kamala Harris becomes the first woman president through the back door because Joe Biden can’t finish his term, it would rip the country apart.
“If a woman is going to become the first president of the United States, it can’t be her,” Trump said at a Wisconsin campaign rally. “That would rip our country apart. This is not what people want. And she comes in through the back door.”
Trump referred to instances this week in which both Biden and Harris referred to their administration as the “Harris-Biden” and “Harris administration with Biden as president.”
Trump also reminded the crowd that Democrats rejected Harris in the primaries before Biden selected her as his running mate.
“I don’t want to put pressure on him, but wait until you see what Mike Pence does to her in the debates,” Trump said to a cheering crowd.
