Vice President Kamala Harris has taken over as the favorite for the 2024 Democrat presidential candidate. With expectations growing that President Biden will not run in 2024, Harris is the clear frontrunner.
Outside of President Biden and Vice President Harris, the field of candidates in 2024 looks very thin.
This could change at the drop of the hat, but it is worth noting that the Democrat field was fragile in the 2020 cycle. Harris herself performed horribly in the Democrat primaries, and her time as Vice President is only making her look worse.
Harris has a 22.2% chance over Biden’s 18.2% chance, according to online betting site US-Bookies. Biden’s chances will only plummet as we get closer to 2024, and that is assuming Biden doesn’t step down in the next three years.
Contrary to the potential Democrat field in 2024, Republicans are full of potential. While former President Trump has weighed running, there is a good chance he will not.
The Republican Party has a load of young talent, and rising stars like Florida Governor Ron DeSantis will be in a great position to contend for the White House.
