Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) told Twitter she thinks President Donald Trump’s Twitter account should be suspended because his posts “beat people down” and may put them at risk of harm, the Daily Mail reported.
Harris said the president uses his power in harmful ways, citing Trump’s tweets against the whistleblower who reported about his July conversation with Ukraine’s president. The whistleblower has said he fears for his safety, although his identity is not currently known.
“Based on this and all we’ve seen him do before, including attacking members of Congress . . . his Twitter account should be suspended,” Harris said on CNN Monday night.
Twitter has suspended accounts for safety reasons, but is less likely to do so for well-known public figures.
Harris has no evidence for what she says, and just wants to take away the one method of communication Trump has outside the overly censorious media. Democrats know Trump’s tweets are highly successful at communicating to his base and supporters. Of course they’d like to shut that down.
