Democrat vice presidential candidate Kamala Harris softened running mate Joe Biden’s declaration that he will put a mandatory mask order in place if he is elected in November.
Harris said that the mask mandate would be a “standard” and that no one would be punished for failing to follow it.
“Nobody likes to wear a mask. This is a universal feeling. Right?” Harris said. “So that’s not the point. Hey, let’s enjoy wearing masks. No. The point is this is what we as responsible people who love our neighbor, we have to just do that right now. God willing it won’t be forever.”
“In Joe’s words, it’s not a burden to protect each other,” Harris said on a speech on Thursday.
I predict some states will ignore any national mask order, especially one without any teeth like this one would be.
