With President Joe Biden appointing his Vice President Kamala Harris to be in charge of his little border problem, you’d think if she were going to travel, she’d be going to the border to see it for herself.
But you would be wrong. Instead, Harris visited the internet for a virtual Passover celebration Thursday and traveled to Connecticut on Friday to talk up her administration’s efforts to bolster child education and fight poverty.
Harris gave lip service to her new task at the border, saying, “Needless to say, the work will not be easy, but it is important work. It is work that we demand — and the people of our countries, I believe, need — to help stem the tide that we have seen.”
But so far, lip service is all that she has given it. Do she and Biden really think that’s going to be enough?
Before she was tasked to take on the border crisis by Biden, Harris laughed at the thought of going to the border when a reporter asked her about it. I’m pretty sure confronting that mess is the very last thing she wants to do right now.
