She’s missing in action. Kamala Harris has gone over 45 days without giving a press conference since Joe Biden first pegged her to handle the migrant crisis on the nation’s southern border.
According to Fox News, “Harris has been criticized by Republicans for going 47 days without facing questions on the migrant surge or touring the area.”
“Her critics call her politically shrewd, with the understanding that if the crisis worsens, her name will be tied to it, and her hopes to someday be the president would be significantly diminished,” notes Fox News.
Harris has been absent from press conferences but also from the border itself. American law enforcement has pleaded with Harris to visit to see the situation with her own eyes, but she has chosen to only speak on the phone with Central American dignitaries on topics such as climate change.
Fox underlines that as of the time of this writing, it remains unknown “when or if the vice president planned to meet with Border Patrol personnel or local and state officials in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona or her home state of California regarding the migrant crisis.”
