Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) blasted Vice President Kamala Harris and President Joe Biden for their conduct in the past week regarding the crisis at the southern border.
Senator Cruz appeared on FNC’s “Fox & Friends” and said, “It is a complete and total abdication by the federal government. Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are quite simply not doing their job and refusing to enforce the law, and they’ve created an unmitigated crisis at the border. A couple of months ago, I took 19 senators down to the border to see firsthand what was happening, and I’ve been to the border many times – it is worse than it has ever been. We had just, last month, over 180,000 people crossed illegally last month.”
The Biden administration’s response to the border crisis has been beyond alarming. Vice President Harris specifically has been a big problem as she refuses to visit the southern border and instead spent her time creating problems in South America.
Senator Cruz then went on to call out Harris for enabling this unprecedented situation. Cruz said, “We’re on pace for 2 million people to cross illegally, and Joe Biden and Kamala Harris have zero intention of doing anything. That’s why they won’t go to the border. Kamala, at this point, it’s almost like a comedy show … She’ll go everywhere except the border because she’s afraid of what’s going on down there, and they have no solutions.”
President Biden appointed vice President Harris to solve the border crisis in March. Since then, she has done nothing to mitigate the flow of immigrants, nor has she made any policy proposals.
The responsibility for this crisis falls on President Biden, but Vice President Harris is responsible for shirking her duty. Things are so bad that many Democrats likely wish anyone but Biden and Harris were in the White House.
