A new book written by Jonathan Martin and Alexander Burns titled, “This Will Not Pass: Trump, Biden, and the Battle for America’s Future,” confirmed rumors that First Lady Jill Biden was a serious critic of Vice President Kamala Harris and didn’t want her to be President Joe Biden’s running mate.
According to an except from the authors, the First Lady said,”‘There are millions of people in the United States, why do we have to choose the one who attacked Joe?'” That statement was allegedly made in response to reports that Harris was the frontrunner to by Joe Biden’s Vice President.
The First Lady’s frustration and anger at Kamala Harris is understandable as it was Harris who attacked Joe Biden during the presidential debates and implied that he was a raging racist for the policies he supported in the past.
Normally being accused of racism would burn any goodwill between two individuals. Still, Joe Biden had worked himself into a corner by promising to pick a woman of color as his Vice President.
The pickings were extremely slim, and as a result, Kamala Harris went from calling Joe Biden a racist to being his right-hand woman. However, it is highly unlikely that the First Lady has gotten over Harris’s vicious attacks on her husband.
One can only imagine the tension in the White House, and that will only get worse when Jonathan Martin and Alexander Burns’s new book releases on May 3rd.
