Vice President Kamala Harris is being criticized for insinuating that rural voters can’t find a way to copy their ID in order to provide it when they register to vote or request an absentee ballot.
It is “almost impossible” for rural voters to “prove who they are,” Harris said to Soledad O’Brien during a BET interview, because “there’s no Kinkos, there’s no OfficeMax near them.”
A number of lawmakers from rural areas including Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) mocked Harris for the condescending comments.
Fox News host Brit Hume pointed out that it was politically really stupid to come out and criticize voter I.D.,” which in polls gets 80% support from voters.
