The National Football League has changed former quarterback and social justice activist Colin Kaepernick’s status from retired to Unrestricted Free Agent.
Kaepernick has not seen the field since 2016 when he began his protests and kneeled during the national anthem before games.
His final season was a forgettable one from a football perspective and many considered him washed up.
What really sealed his early retirement was his protests which created a public relations nightmare for the NFL. Teams had to stay away from Kaepernick because of the division he created.
While the NFL has changed his status from retired back to Unrestricted Free Agent, it is unlikely Kaepernick will see the field.
Kaepernick simply never had the skills to justify his divisive political presence on teams and in locker rooms. Not to mention he isn’t getting any younger.
