Stephen K. Bannon has been found guilty on two counts of contempt of Congress after a jury deliberated for around three hours.
The former White House adviser’s defense team had anticipated a guilty verdict.
In fact, they had already announced that they intend to appeal because Judge Carl Nichols “barred many defenses, including legal challenges to the validity of the subpoenas of the January 6th committee, which he was accused of defying.”
At one point in 2016, Bannon had been the CEO of the Trump campaign, steering it to victory despite the media in this country being SURE we were going to see the cackling devil herself, Hillary Clinton.
After the election, he became a White House advisor.
Bannon faces up to one year in prison for each count.
