On Friday, a judge ruled that Republican Claudia Tenney has defeated incumbent Representative Anthony Brindisi (D-NY) in New York’s 22nd District.
Despite the courts’ decision, Brindisi said he will appeal the decision and might even take the issue to the House of Representatives.
Brindisi tweeted, “I am shocked and surprised by this decision because of the countless errors and discrepancies that have occurred throughout this initial count. I believe a full audit and hand recount is the only way to resolve this race.”
Brindisi’s sentiment on the election outcome is ironic considering how the Democrat party treated President Trump and Republicans who questioned the election’s outcome.
Congressional Leadership Fund (CLF) President Dan Consto said, “Claudia Tenney is the fighter Upstate New York needs, and I congratulate her on winning this election. This seat was a top offensive priority for CLF, and we are proud of the role we played in helping to win this race.”
This is a huge win for Republicans who have officially shaved Democrats’ lead in the House to nine seats. With the midterms closer than many think, Republicans are in a prime position to win back the House.
