Former national security advisor John Bolton was just completely stunned. Criminals charges could be made soon if he doesn’t reverse course, but it appears he is moving forward anyway. Get ready for the fireworks.
“Federal prosecutors are considering filing criminal charges against former Trump National Security Advisor John Bolton if his soon-to-be-released memoir — In the Room Where It Happened: A White House Memoir — contains classified information,” reported Breitbart News.
For months now, there has been concern that Bolton’s election-year book may include classified information that would harm our national security. The Department of Justice (DOJ) has already filed a restraining order against the book, but that isn’t the only option.
While the DOJ’s request is pending before a federal judge, U.S. prosecutors are reportedly looking at criminal charges as a possibility. This may end up being the only way to hold Bolton accountable for allegedly violating his oath to protect and defend the country.
Of course, Bolton’s legal team has rejected the White House’s concerns as a political attempt to censor Bolton and prevent negative information from being released about Trump — but the facts of the situation prove otherwise. This is about national security alone.
“Simply put, defendant struck a bargain with the United States as a condition of his employment in one of the most sensitive and important national security positions in the United States government and now wants to renege on that bargain,” noted the DOJ’s lawsuit.
