Former Speaker of the House John Boehner (R-OH) is crying again. Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) can’t stop laughing about it. This is amazing.
Appearing on CBS News, Boehner discussed his new book and his candid thoughts on Cruz. “As I say in the book, there’s nothing worse than a reckless jackass who thinks he’s smarter than everybody else,” said Boehner.
“He was a member of the Senate, stirring up some of the crazies in my own caucus to cause all kinds of problems,” Boehner continued. Clearly, there is no love lost between them.
In fact, it doesn’t seem like Boehner and Cruz ever got along. But it is amusing — and perhaps a little sad — that Boehner thinks Cruz may care one bit about his criticisms.
Cruz has been attacked by establishment politicians and the mainstream media ever since he became a U.S. senator. He laughs it off and continues to do a great job representing Texas.
Boehner could actually be jealous. If Cruz was able to hold sway with Republican members of the House, this means that many of them looked to Cruz for leadership over Boehner, their own Speaker.
