Well, President Joe Biden is at it again–making up stories to make himself seem better or cooler than he really is.
This time, he claimed at a U.S. Navy commencement address that he turned down an offer to play football at the Naval Academy because of the presence of Roger Staubach, who eventually ended up in the Hall of Fame and a Super Bowl champion.
Trouble is, there’s no record of him turning down a spot at the Naval Academy, and he didn’t play football at the University of Delaware where he did go to college.
In addition, the dates don’t match up at all. He claimed he was appointed to the Naval Academy in 1965, but that’s when he actually graduated from Delaware, so it can’t be when he was potentially going to enter the Academy.
He’s obviously confused, or just making stuff up again.
