President Donald Trump is really looking forward to debating presumptive Democrat presidential nominee Joe Biden this fall, but his request to add to the three debates already scheduled between the two or move the date up to before any mail-in ballots are received was denied by the Commission on Presidential Debates this week.
The commission said it would consider a change if both Biden and Trump agreed they wanted it, but Biden has not said he would agree to any changes.
“There is a difference between ballots having been issued by a state and those ballots having been cast by voters, who are under no compulsion to return their ballots before the debates,” the commission replied to Trump.
Trump also provided a list of potential moderators for debates and asked the commission to choose from the list, but that request was denied as well.
There’s no doubt that the debates will not be fair to Trump if and when they do take place, but Biden may back out before that time comes because he is obviously declining mentally and has no place running for president or trying to debate anyone.
