Former Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta, who served under Biden’s old boss, slammed Biden for attempting to spin the Afghanistan situation.
Panetta said during an interview for “Fox News Sunday” that “I’ve told presidents this at various jobs that I’ve had that the most important thing about the responsibility as President is to be honest with the American people. President Biden has been anything but honest with Americans about the situation in Afghanistan. The President was downplaying the severity of the situation even as Kabul was falling.
Panetta continued saying, “Frankly, to play this game of kind of always portraying your worst mistakes as some kind of success hurts your credibility as president of the United States.”
President Biden has lost all credibility with Americans, and it shows in opinion polls. The President is setting new lows regarding approval ratings, and he is less than a year into his first term.
