Democrat Rep. Susan Wild (PA) said last week on a telephone town hall paid for by the government that she was she is “disappointed” in President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris’s handling of the border crisis and that there was not “much in the way of results.”
“I will speak very honestly with you and tell you I’m a little bit disappointed. I know that the president assigned responsibility for the border crisis to the vice president, um, I’m a little disappointed. I haven’t seen much in the way of results,” Wild said in the audio clip posted by RNC Research.
Biden and Harris’s main policy regarding the border and illegal immigration has been “catch and release,” in which illegal immigrants caught trying to cross the border are processed and released into the U.S. with a vague promise to appear at a future court date or present themselves back at the Border Patrol at a future date.
Former National Border Patrol Council President Brandon Judd wrote last month that according to his calculations, Biden has released one million illegal immigrants into the U.S. just since he took office in January.
Federal data shows that 90% of illegal immigrants don’t show up for their asylum hearings but stay inside the U.S. indefinitely.
