President Joe Biden continued his pattern of gaffes and memory slips on Wednesday, referring to Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer (D) as “Jennifer.”
He was probably referring to a previous governor, Jennifer Granholm, who now serves in his administration.
“Thank you Jennifer for what you’ve done, and continue to do,” Biden said after Whitmer finished speaking.
Whitmer didn’t react to the slip-up, which is very different from her social media outburst when former President Donald Trump referred to her as “the young, a woman governor … from Michigan” in March 2020 at the beginning of the pandemic.
“Hi, my name is Gretchen Whitmer, and that governor is me,” she tweeted angrily at the time.
