President Joe Biden tried to say that the economy was showing “historic progress,” despite two lackluster jobs reports in a row that failed to meet economists’ expectations.
“This is progress, historic progress,” Biden said. “Progress that is pulling our economy out of the worst crisis it’s been in 100 years.”
In April, jobs were nearly three-quarters of a million lower than forecast, and in May they were 90,000 under expectations.
A $300 per week federal unemployment boost is believed to be keeping people out of the job market, and 25 Republican-led states are ending the boost two to three months early to try to get more people back to work.
Biden’s pathetic attempt to say he created more jobs than other presidents (who didn’t deal with pandemics) should show everyone that he is thoroughly incompetent to fix this problem.
