Freshman Rep. Madison Cawthorn (R-NC) said Friday that he worried President Joe Biden’s door-to-door vaccine visits could turn in to gun or Bible grabs at some point.
“Authoritarianism is on the rise…there are tyrants who want to take away our rights, to not be able to congregate in churches, not be able to own firearms,” Cawthorn said to Right Side Broadcasting Network.
By “going door-to-door, to be able to take vaccines to the people,” Cawthorn said, Biden would be building the kind of system that could then be used to confiscate guns or Bibles at some point in the future.
“The thing about the mechanisms they would have to build to be able to actually execute that massive of a thing, and then think about what those mechanism could be used for, they could then go door-to-door and take your guns; they could go door-to-door and take your Bibles,” he went on.
Biden has advocated stricter gun control since the campaign, and has already signed two executive orders making gun laws stricter.
