President Joe Biden has become the first U.S. president since the National Day of Prayer was established not to mention God in his proclamation.
He did mention the pandemic, racial justice, and climate change, however. He also emphasized religious diversity and the support for all different faiths.
“As we continue to confront the crises and challenges of our time — from a deadly pandemic, to the loss of lives and livelihoods in its wake, to a reckoning on racial justice, to the existential threat of climate change — Americans of faith can call upon the power of prayer to provide hope and uplift us for the work ahead,” he said.
Gee, thanks for the permission.
I don’t know how we as a country can expect God to protect and support that country if our leaders including the president don’t even mention his existence as the one to which we need to pray.
