Only 39% of voters are buying Democrat presidential nominee Joe Biden’s narrative that President Donald Trump was referring to white supremacists when he called the people of Charlottesville “very fine people,” according to a new Rassmussen poll.
The hoax has been debunked by the right as often as it has been touted by the left as evidence that Trump is a racist and sympathetic to the white supremacists.
When Trump said they were “very fine people,” he was talking about peaceful protesters both for and against removing a Confederate statue. He repeatedly condemned the white supremacists both before and after Charlottesville.
Of course, Democrats have seized any opportunity to twist Trump’s words and try to turn the public against him.
So far, they haven’t been able to convince a majority of voters to agree with them.
