Joe Biden’s White House was just exposed for their disturbing approach to young students in schools.
According to Breitbart News, “The White House said Friday that officials were not concerned about the psychological effects of forcing children to wear masks in school to prevent the spread of coronavirus.”
Not concerned. That’s your new President’s leadership.
As evidence, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki could only point to her own experience. “I can tell you from personal experience, my rising kindergartener told me two days ago she could wear a mask all day,” said Psaki who is neither a doctor, a therapist, or a any sort of mental health specialist. Because of narrow thinking like this, the White House is supporting mandates for all.
Governor Ron DeSantis has taken a different approach:
DeSantis believes that parents know what’s best for their children; therefore, parents in Florida are empowered to make their own choices with regards to masking. Experts have raised legitimate concerns that the risks of masking outweigh the potential benefits for children, because masking children can negatively impact their learning, speech, emotional and social development, and physical health (e.g., infections from bacteria that’s often found on masks, difficulty breathing while exercising in masks, etc.) Fortunately, the data indicate that COVID is not a serious risk to healthy children, which is why schools in most countries were among the first institutions to reopen. At the end of the day, the Governor trusts parents to weigh the risks and benefits and make the best choices for their kids.
