President Joe Biden is missing. The White House is scrambling to explain it all, but they can’t contain the questions. We have a major problem now.
“After more than 50 days in office, President Biden has yet to hold a solo news conference — separating him from over a dozen of his most recent predecessors,” reported Fox News. Some say he is hiding from the media.
However, the White House has countered by saying that Biden “takes questions several times a week” and is focusing his “energy” on the COVID-19 pandemic. It is a convenient excuse, but it doesn’t hold up under scrutiny.
While Biden certainly randomly takes questions from the media as he travels, he has not held a single solo press conference at the White House since being inaugurated in January. This isn’t normal at all.
As noted by Fox News, then-President Donald Trump “held his first news conference after just one week from the start of his presidency.” Even the White House Correspondents Association (WHCA) has taken notice.
WHCA President Zeke Miller called Biden’s refusal to host even a single solo press conference, which is an unprecedented move. It appears obvious that Biden’s own handlers are trying to shield the gaffe-prone politician from questions.
