President Joe Biden is quitting. The announcement has shocked the Republican Party — no one expected this to happen and now the chatter won’t stop.
“The Biden administration announced Tuesday that the U.S. will withdraw the remaining American troops from Afghanistan by this September 11 — the 20th anniversary of the war,” reported Breitbart News.
A senior administration official announced Biden’s decision during a call with reporters earlier this week, and there’s one thing the mainstream media likely won’t report: that this is a slightly altered version of President Trump’s plan.
Trump’s administration “negotiated a peace plan with the Taliban that would bring troops home by May 1,” but somehow — in spite of a deal being made — Biden can’t meet that deadline. So, it is being moved to the fall of 2021.
There’s a major chance that Biden will attempt to take credit for ending the war in Afghanistan, especially since he plans for it to coincide with the 20th anniversary of the September 11, 2001, terror attacks.
However, let’s remember who actually had the guts to decide that it was time to bring the troops home in the first place. Biden will make a victory lap, but Trump did the work.
