President Joe Biden called his Supreme Court nominee Ketanji Brown Jackson “one of our nation’s top legal minds” but the truth is that no legal experts have characterized her as such.
“I did that four days ago, when I nominated Circuit Court of Appeals Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson, one of our nation’s top legal minds, who will continue Justice Breyer’s legacy of excellence,” Biden said during his State of the Union address on Tuesday.
The truth is that Jackson was considered at the bottom of the ten or so D.C. district judges former President Barack Obama nominated while in office, according to Breitbart.
Jackson did not appear on the long list of potential “diverse, progressive” Supreme Court candidates released in 2019.
She was reversed on several of her major opinions and legal scholars have said she has a “clunky” writing style. Hardly the gem Biden is trying to make her look like.
